Physical Sciences Instructor | Climate Science Researcher

Sarah Harris is an instructor of Geography with a focus on environmental and geophysical sciences as well as computer programming for environmental sciences. She has taught courses at the undergraduate- and college-levels at McGill University, Concordia University, Dawson College, and University of California, Santa Barabara. Prior to her most recent work as an instructor, Sarah completed her postdoctoral studies at McGill University. Her research focuses on climate change and variations for the Arctic as well as events affecting the western coast of North America.

I have taught seven different courses at the university level at three separate institutions as well as two different courses at the college level at another institution. GEOG 351 | Quantitative Methods

Upper-level undergraduate course that evaluates statistical methods used in geographic research, including spatial analysis, regression modeling, and hypothesis testing.

Research

My research focuses on the climatology of precipitation patterns in North America. My dissertation research specifically focused on rainfall extremes along North America's west coast and how these extremes corresponded to atmospheric river events. My current research focuses on extremes and climatological change in North America's high latitudes.
